How to write an Impressive Cover Letter

Cover letter is very important part of resume. Writing a cover letter often seems like a tedious task. However, if you take it one step at a time, you'll be an expert at writing cover letters that can create a positive impression on interviewer’s mind.

Posting a resume is always accompanied with a cover letter. It can create a lot of difference between obtaining a job interview and having your resume ignored, so it is very important to devote good amount of time and effort to writing effective cover letters.

A cover letter should complement your resume. Its main purpose is to interpret and explained the data-oriented, factual resume and also to add a personal touch. A cover letter is the main contact point with an employer, as it creates the first impression. Your cover letter should be written to justify every purpose for that you are going for interview and the each position you are looking for. 

Effective cover letters explain the reasons for your interest in the specific organization and identify your most relevant skills or experiences. 

In responding to an advertisement, refer specifically about your qualifications and illustrate how your particular abilities and experiences are apt for the position for which you are applying. In a cover letter express your potential to fulfill the recruiter’s needs. 


Emphasize your achievements and problem-tacking skills. Show how your educational degree and work- skills are useful, and thus relevant, to the position for which you are applying. 

To be effective, when you're writing to apply for a job, your cover letter should follow the basic format of a business letter and should address three general issues: 


1. First Paragraph - Why you are writing 

2. Middle Paragraphs - What you have to offer 

3. Concluding Paragraph - How you will follow-up
